Hair Club to Attend the 16th TLC Conference

April 27, 2009 - Hair Club, is very proud to once again be sponsoring the TLC Conference, which this year takes place in Boston, Massachusetts May 1st through 3rd. The event was founded by the Trichotillomania Learning Center, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the quality of life of children, adolescents and adults with Trichotillomania and other body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRB).

Trichotillomania (also referred to as TTM or "trich") is an impulse control disorder that causes people to pull out the hair from their scalp, eyelashes, eyebrows, pubic area, underarms, beard, chest, legs or other parts of the body, resulting in noticeable bald patches.

"The Conference is designed to educate and support trich sufferers and their families," Michele Graves, VP of Human Resources for Hair Club said. "It gives people the opportunity to attend seminars, learn about coping with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) behaviors, and interact with people like them."

The Conference is in its 16th year, and offers a tremendous resource for those who suffer from Trichotillomania, as well as supplying information for friends and family members about hair loss solutions. The Conference also serves to provide a community and support group for those with the disorder, helping sufferers realize they're not alone.

The Conference offers over 60 sessions for adults, children and adolescents, and an opportunity to meet with solution providers, such as Hair Club. From the latest genetics and pharmacology research to esteem-building programs for kids, there truly is something for everyone.

Hair Club offers personalized hair loss solutions to men and women, as well as children, allows visitors a chance to learn about the latest hair loss advancements, products, and the opportunity to touch and feel actual hair samples. Hair Club's experts will be out in force during the three-day event at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport Hotel, and offer information, support, presentations, and product samples.

Hair Club's program, Hair Club for Kids, is program for kids with hair loss, many of whom will be in attendance at the Conference. Hair Club for Kids provides free hair loss solutions for qualifying children between the ages of 7 and 17 who are battling hair loss as a result of illness.

"It's very important for Hair Club to be a good corporate citizen," Graves said. "We're very honored to be attending the conference again this year, and will do anything we can to help. We want to show how hair will make their lives better."

The 16th Annual National Conference takes place May 1st through 3rd in Boston.
