Types of Hair Loss Surgery
There are quite a few hair loss surgery options out there. Hair Club Medical GroupTM believes the Microscopic Follicular Unit Hair Transplant is the most advanced and effective hair loss surgery technique available - and it's the method our doctors use.
We do not suggest any of the following types of hair loss surgery:
Mini and Micro-grafts: Mini- and Micro-grafts are hair units transplanted in larger groupings of 2-6 follicular units (of 2 - 24 hairs per unit). This is an outdated hair loss surgery method used to save time and money. The hair growth results look less natural, so although it might save you a few dollars initially, you probably won't be happy with the end result.
Plugs: Hair is usually transplanted in even larger groupings of 10 or more follicular units. This type of hair loss surgery has a bad reputation for a very good reason. Hair plugs look like doll hair. That says it all.
Skin Flaps/Scalp Reductions: This type of hair loss surgery involves extensive alteration of the scalp tissue itself. Results can often look extremely unnatural.
