When Mike Nassar, CEO of HairClub was asked how he felt about being included in the Apogee Award nominations, he credited his HairClub team members for their extensive service to the community.
"It is such an honor to be recognized among some of the most successful leaders in South Florida and I am humbled because this recognition would not be possible without my team,” Nassar said. “HairClub people care about the community, and we have more than 1000 true winners in our company."
Nassar was selected as an honoree for South Florida Business & Wealth’s 2022 Apogee Awards in recognition of professional achievements and community involvement over the past year.
“It is our distinct privilege to extend Lifestyle Media Group’s sincere congratulations and recognize Mike Nassar as one of South Florida’s most distinguished C-Suite professionals,” said Drew Limsky, editor-in-chief of South Florida Business & Wealth magazine.
For Nassar, it’s all about what his team does for the community throughout the year.
“During this time of year when sharing gratitude around Thanksgiving, this recognition means so much because it reflects what HairClub accomplishes for the good of our entire region,” said Nassar.
Nassar is known for flying under the radar when it comes to personal recognition, but the HairClub people stay busy giving back to charitable causes and partnering with organizations that affect meaningful change.
Nassar and his team shared their HairClub resources recently in providing free haircuts to the Miami Rescue Mission. HairClub played a role in assisting Boca Helping Hands, packing weekend meals for schoolchildren, pantry bags and packing meat and produce. They assisted with the Boys and Girls Club back-to-school drive and partnered with the Miami Marlins to distribute school supplies. In October the company assisted in the area’s beach clean-up project along with participating in the Triple Play 5k.
“Looking back at what we’ve been able to contribute in 2022, that’s one of the reasons receiving the South Florida Business & Wealth’s 2022 Apogee nomination is so meaningful,” said Nassar.
HairClub champions numerous causes that benefit children and women through athletic and academic organizations, providing products and initiatives as presenting sponsors of University of Miami women’s athletics and breast cancer awareness. HairClub sponsors NASCAR driver Toni Breidinger, the first Arab-American female driver to participate in a national series race. In celebration of Hispanic hair, HairClub commissioned an NFT of salsa legend Celia Cruz’s wig for Hispanic Heritage Month and to highlight the award-winning short film, “El Poder del Cabello” (the power of hair) campaign. Proceeds from the commission benefitted communications, arts, and music within the Hispanic community.
“I see how our Hair Health Experts change lives on a daily basis, empowering and helping our HairClub Members live better,” said Nassar. “My hope is that being an honoree will give anyone who doesn’t know HairClub a new introduction to our incredible mission.”
