On International Women’s Day, we celebrate strength in all its forms – including the quiet resilience that begins in childhood.
Her Diagnosis
Isabelle has been a client of HairClub since she was nine years old. Her mom had taken her to the pediatrician when she was only two, feeling something wasn’t right, as her daughter wasn’t growing hair. Her mom was right – and at three years old, Isabelle was diagnosed with alopecia areata. After several years of trying to wear wigs, her parents found our HairClub for Kids® Program (HCFK), a charitable program offered through HairClub, where children who are suffering from hair loss due to alopecia, cancer or other conditions can receive free services.
Her HairClub Solution
Isabelle’s first visit to HairClub is a memory she will never forget. For the first time in her young life, she sat in a salon chair and was able to talk about hair styles and colors… it was an exciting day. Then, when she began wearing her Xtrands+® hair system, she instantly felt confident and ready to show off her hair. That’s big – for a little kid.
Isabelle’s “Aha” Moment
When Isabelle was a teenager, her personal hair journey resulted in an ‘aha’ moment. While at her HairClub styling appointment, she saw herself in the mirror and immediately thought, “I should do this for other people. I wanted to make others feel confident and beautiful, just as HairClub has helped me.”
In that moment, her future path became clear. She wanted to attend cosmetology school and become a HairClub Stylist. And she did! Isabelle graduated from cosmetology school and began working as a HairClub Stylist – that was 11 years ago.
“I’ve had the privilege of helping so many children experiencing hair loss through the HairClub for Kids® Program. One relationship that truly stands out is with a young girl in particular. I began doing her hair when she was just five years old, and she is now 13. Watching her grow has been a full-circle moment for me — it’s like seeing myself at her age, wishing I had someone to look up to who understood what I was going through. Her mom has shared that I’ve been a constant source of strength, guidance, and hope for her daughter, and that is more fulfilling than anything else I could imagine.”
Isabelle is a role model in so many ways. We are honored to have her on our team and proud of her involvement in her community and beyond.
Alopecia involvement: She is a member of the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) and has attended several NAAF conferences over the years. They have played an important role in her continued education and connection within the Alopecia community.
Advocacy & Education: Isabelle regularly presents at local beauty schools where she shares her personal journey with Alopecia, educates students about HairClub, and advocates for awareness and compassion surrounding hair loss.
Community impact: She also proudly supports and promotes the HairClub for Kids® Program, helping bring confidence and hope to children experiencing hair loss.
“My passion has always been helping others feel seen, supported, and beautiful — especially women and children navigating hair loss and self-confidence challenges. Working at HairClub has allowed me to turn something deeply personal into something purposeful, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share that story.”
We appreciate Isabelle sharing #HERstory too!
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate women like Isabelle – women who transform their challenges into compassion, their experiences into advocacy, and their journeys into inspiration for others. When women lift one another up, confidence grows, voices grow louder, and communities grow stronger. And that’s something worth celebrating – today and every day.
